What are the requirements for renting a car?
The driver must produce a valid Singapore Class 3 driver’s license and identity card (locals) or an international driving permit with passport (foreigners). If an IDP is not available, hirer must get an official English translation of their native country’s driver’s licence if it is in foreign language. Translation should be done at their respective embassies. Minimum age is 21 and maximum 60 years old. A minimum of 2-year qualified driving experience is required.
What does the car rental rate include?
Rates include insurance, maintenance and unlimited mileage. Minimum charge is one-day rental. Excess hours are charged at one-fifth or up to 50% of daily rates depending on the number of hours exceeded. Rates are subject to change without prior notice. All rates quoted are in Singapore currency and subjected to 9% GST (Goods & Services Tax).
What does your car rental insurance cover?
Our vehicles are covered under a comprehensive commercial motor policy which includes damage to vehicles and liability to third parties. However the hirer is liable for damage excess as follows - all private cars and commercial vehicles @ $3270.00 for Own Damage and $3270.00 for Third Party Damage.
What is CDW (Collision Damage Waiver)?
The hirer may choose to reduce their liability for damage excess by purchasing CDW at $16.35 per day for vehicles below 1800cc / $21.80 per day for vehicles above 1800 cc and all commercial vehicles.
What happens if my vehicle is involved in an accident?
The hirer must report all accidents to Popular Rent A Car immediately. Hirer shall not admit liability. Should there be bodily injuries, the hirer must report to the Singapore Traffic Police within 24 hours and the original accident report must be forwarded to our office as soon as possible. Where there are no bodily injuries involved, the hirer is required to fill in a non-injury motor accident report form, which can be obtained from Popular Rent A Car.
Will there be any charge if I want the vehicle to be delivered to me?
There will be a service fee of $32.70 for each delivery or collection during office hours and $65.40 after office hours and subject to availability.
Can I drive into West Malaysia?
Yes subject to a surcharge of $38.15 per day and and $49.05 per day during Hari Raya and CNY periods. Please notify us in advance so that the vehicle will be properly and adequately insured for West Malaysia use. The damage excess will be doubled for use within Malaysia.
When can I collect and return my rental vehicle?
Collections and returns will be during office hours only. Any special arrangement could be arrange subject to availability, surcharge fees may apply.
